The National Football League announced Saturday that a record 73 players have been granted special eligibility for this year's draft.
The players met the league's three-year eligibility rule and submitted a written application renouncing their remaining college football eligibility. The deadline to apply was Tuesday.
That number is up from last year's 65 players who declared early.
South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore and former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu are among the players on the list. LSU had the most players on the list with seven.
The NFL draft is April 25-27 in New York. The first round is April 25 with the second and third rounds April 26 and the fourth through seventh rounds April 27.
