The Chicago Rush used 35 consecutive first-half points to blow past the Kansas City Command 69-40 Saturday night at Allstate Arena.
Rush (4-0) quarterback Russ Michna threw for 311 yards, seven touchdowns and no interceptions. He hooked up with Jared Perry
for three of the scores during the 35-point run. Michna also hit Reggie Gray and JJ Payne for touchdowns during the burst.
The Command (0-4) opened the scoring when Matt Gutierrez
, making his first start for Kansas City since being traded there from Arizona earlier this week, connected with Syvelle Newton for a seven-yard touchdown. Gutierrez finished 23 for 39 for 258 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions.
Chicago's largest lead of the game came when Michna hit Perry again for a 49-13 lead to start the second half.
Bradly Chavez caught nine passes for 104 yards and three touchdowns for Kansas City.
