The LA Galaxy didn't make up for their Major League Soccer opening-week loss to Real Salt Lake, but they did manage to earn a point at Rio Tinto Stadium in a 1-1 draw in the Calret-and-Cobalt's home opener.

RSL saw an excellent chance go begging in the second minute. Omar Gonzalez failed to control a bouncing ball at the back which fell to Joao Plata, scorer of the only goal when these teams met on March 8, but the forward shot wide despite being on a breakaway.

But the Royals wouldn't have to wait too long for their opener. RSL took a free kick short and Plata, seeing Alvaro Saborio criminally unmarked at the back of the box, swung his cross to the Costa Rican. Saborio's task to make it 1-0 was a simple collect-and-shoot job, and he made no mistake.

Robbie Keane equalized right on the 34-minute mark, taking a short pass near the halfway line and dribbling almost unchallenged down the right wing before skipping by Chris Schuler and blasting his shot past Nick Rimando.

Both teams were forced into injury substitutions during the game, with Plata and LA's James Riley exiting the game in the first half.

LA falls to two MLS games without a win this season with a 0-1-1 record, while RSL is undefeated at 1-0-2.
