RB Lacy: Poor workouts due to hamstring injury

The SportsXchange

Running back Eddie Lacy attributed his disappointing pre-draft workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine and Alabama's Pro Day to a hamstring injury.

Lacy told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Friday that he was out of shape because of the injury.

"By the time it was anywhere close to 100 percent, I only had two weeks to train," Lacy said. "Everybody knows that two weeks is not enough time, pretty much to do anything. I went out there, I did the best I could do and I got through everything, but there was really nothing I could do about it."

Lacy rushed for 1,322 yards with 17 touchdowns for the Crimson Tide last year. He is ranked the No. 1 running back and 35th overall prospect by NFLDraftScout.com.

The Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Rams are among the teams in need of a starting running back.
