Ravens, WR Jones finalize four-year deal

The SportsXchange

Wide receiver Jacoby Jones re-signed with the Ravens on Wednesday, shunning outside interest to remain in Baltimore.

Jones was a target of the New York Jets, New York Giants and reportedly had interest from four teams.

A deep threat and return specialist, Jones caught 37 passes for 455 yards with two touchdowns last season. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2012 as a return specialist and had two touchdowns in Super Bowl XLVII, a 56-yard touchdown reception and a 108-yard kickoff return to begin the second half.

Jones is considered a third or fourth receiver and the Ravens could still add to the receiving corps. Former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith would be high on the Ravens' wish list.

Jones is one player on the roster who is familiar with the new offensive system being put in place by Gary Kubiak, the first-year offensive coordinator with the Ravens who was head coach of the Houston Texans when Jones played for the team.
