Rasual Butler, John Wall lead Wizards over Timberwolves

John Wall put up his 15th double-double this season, scoring 21 points and registering 17 assists, to help the Washington Wizards defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves, 109-95. The Wizards had no trouble knocking down shots, finishing 43-86 (50.0%) from the field, including 10-17 (58.8%) from beyond the arc. This is the fifth win in a row for Washington (18-6).

Wall finished 9-17, including 2-4 from three-point range. Other key performers for Washington were Rasual Butler with 23 points and five rebounds, and Nene Hilario with 11 points and seven rebounds. Thaddeus Young had a strong performance for Minnesota despite the loss, scoring 29 points on 12-19 shooting from the field and 5-12 from the free throw line.

The Wizards combined an eFG% of 55.8% with 58.8% 3-point shooting. They are undefeated (3-0) this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Timberwolves, on the other hand, are 1-5 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.

Minnesota (5-19) has now lost three in a row.

Coming up, the Wizards square off with the Miami Heat, who are 11-13 on the season. The Timberwolves meet the Boston Celtics, currently sitting at 8-14 this year. The Wizards are 1-1 versus Miami this season.
