Rashad Evans vs. Glover Teixeira Headlines UFC Fight Night 61 in Brazil

Rashad Evans Heads to Mexico for Second UFC Middleweight Bout

Top UFC light heavyweights Rashad Evans and Glover Teixeira are set to headline UFC Fight Night 61 on Feb. 22 at Ginasio Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

UFC officials announced the bout via its Brazilian Twitter account on Thursday.

Former light heavyweight champion Evans (19-3-1) has been out of action since he crushed Chael Sonnen at UFC 167 in November of last year. He had been scheduled to fight Daniel Cormier in February of this year, but a knee injury sidelined him for the full calendar year.

He'll attempt to make Teixeira his third consecutive victory – he defeated Dan Henderson prior to Sonnen – when the two meet on the Brazilian's home turf.

Teixeira (22-4) is coming off of the first back-to-back defeats of his career. He failed to wrest the belt form current champion Jon Jones in April and then lost to Phil Davis in October, leaving a dark cloud over his 2014.

He'll look to get back in the title hunt with a win over Evans.
