Rashad Evans Says He’d Highlight Reel KO Rampage Jackson in a Rematch

Rashad Evans Explains Being Pulled from UFC 205

Former light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson returned to the UFC on Saturday in the co-main event of UFC 186: Johnson vs. Horiguchi and defeated twelfth-ranked Fabio Maldonado by unanimous decision.

During the pay-per-view event’s post-fight press conference at the Bell Centre, Jackson explained that his future intentions are to avenge his previous losses, including his decision defeat to Rashad Evans.

Prior to knowing Jackson’s motivations, Evans said that he’d welcome a rematch with the 36-year-old and knock out Jackson in a rematch if he showed up in the same form that he was in against Maldonado.

“I definitely would give Rampage a rematch. That’s a fight I would really like to have,” said Evans during the UFC 186 Post Show on Fox Sports 1.

“He came out there and kind of looked alright. He had little things going on, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt,” Evans added. “But I tell you what, if that Rampage gets in front of me, I’m going to highlight-reel knockout him.”

Evans defeated Jackson by unanimous decision at UFC 114 in May 2010 after coaching opposite him in the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter.
