Rangers' Ogando returns to DL

The Texas Rangers placed right-hander Alexi Ogando on the 15-day disabled list with shoulder inflammation and recalled Travis Blackley from Triple-A Round Rock, the team announced Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Ogando went back on the DL for the third time this year. He was sidelined in May with biceps tendinitis and then with shoulder inflammation in June and July.

In 15 starts this season, Ogando has a 5-4 record with a 3.47 ERA in 80 1/3 innings.

The Rangers acquired Blackley, 30, from Houston last week. He posted a 1-1 record with a 4.89 ERA in 35 innings in relief for the Astros this year and made one start in Triple-A with Round Rock before his promotion to the majors.

To clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Blackley, the Rangers transferred right-hander Matt West to the 60-day DL.
