Rangers' Hamilton swats four HRs against Orioles

The SportsXchange

Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton tied an MLB record with four home runs in a 5-for-5 night against the Orioles.

In the 16th four-homer performance in major league history, Hamilton belted four 2-run homers and also doubled in the fifth inning.

Hamilton is the first player since Sept. 25, 2003 to accomplish the feat; Carlos Delgado had four against Tampa Bay.

With 18 total bases in the game, Hamilton set a new team and American League record. Hamilton's eight RBIs are a career best.

Hamilton has a .403 batting average, 14 home runs and 36 RBIs this season.
