ARLINGTON, Texas -- For the second consecutive night, the Texas Rangers used late-inning heroics to overcome the Los Angeles Angels.
After a walk-off home run provided by Geovany Soto lifted Texas to a 3-2 victory on Monday night, Leonys Martin provided the fireworks. Martin belted a three-run, game-winning home run over the left-field fence for a 14-11 victory in 10 innings.
The consecutive walk-off wins were just the third time in club history the Rangers accomplished such a feat.
Texas (58-49) claimed back-to-back victories for the first time since doing so against the Baltimore Orioles and the Rangers won just their third game in eight attempts. The 14 runs were the most by Texas this season. Texas had plated a combined four runs in its previous three games.
The Rangers picked up a game on the American League West-leading Athletics for the first time since June 27 after the A's fell to the Blue Jays 5-0. Texas ended the day five games back of Oakland.
Los Angeles (48-57) fell for its fifth consecutive time as Ernesto Frieri blew his second save attempt in as many nights. The Halos squandered a four-run lead it held entering the bottom half of the eighth after Josh Hamilton provided four RBIs on two hits and Mike Trout tied a career high with four hits.
Soto helped bring Texas to within a run in the eighth with his second homer in as many nights, this time a three-run home run to left.
Adrian Beltre knotted the game at 11-11 with two outs in the ninth by bringing home Ian Kinsler from second -- Kinsler's third run of the game.
Letting its 6-4 lead after six innings slip away, Texas left starter Derek Holland without a win for his third consecutive start in picking up a no-decision.
The left-hander pitched six innings, striking out six despite giving up four earned runs on eight hits.
His bullpen gave up seven runs in the key seventh and eighth, three being charged to Joakim Soria -- the first against the pitcher this season -- and one picked up by Tanner Scheppers.
Texas, having ended a 26-inning scoreless drought in Monday's 4-3 walk-off win over the Angels, pushed six runs across the plate in the first four innings of Tuesday night's contest.

With the bases loaded and two outs, C.J. Wilson's first pitch to Craig Gentry bounced in the dirt and away from catcher Chris Iannetta, allowing Cruz to score from third and the other runners to advance.
Gentry followed the wild pitch with a two-run single up the middle that glanced off Howie Kendrick's glove at second and into center to give Texas a 5-3 advantage.
Kinsler opened the fourth with a leadoff triple and scored for the second time on a single by Adrian Beltre to left-center field.
Wilson, departing after four innings, ended a streak of three consecutive starts with a win after allowing six earned runs on 11 hits. The left-hander had thrown at least 6 2/3 innings in each of his last five starts.
Wilson is winless in six starts against his former club.
Notes: Angels manager Mike Scioscia was ejected from the game in the bottom of the second for arguing a call made at first. The ejection was his second of the season and 36th of his career. ... Elvis Andrus extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a double in the first inning. ... Lance Berkman jogged the bases and took an indoor batting cage session before the game. Berkman said he will make his decision soon about if he will return. ... Howie Kendrick became the ninth player in Angels history to reach 1,000 hits after he singled in the eighth.
