Tough odds to crack the St. Louis Rams’ roster this coming season got tougher for Nick Miller.
The reserve wide receiver has been suspended for the first four games of the 2012 season. According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, he violated the league’s policy on steroids and performance-enhancing drugs.
Miller was a longshot moving forward. The Rams need to overhaul the position and he was added as a special teams players during the 2011 season. He caught just one pass but did return a punt 88 yards for a touchdown in a game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Rams wide receiver Austin Pettis will serve the remainder of his four-game suspension to start the 2012 season. He was suspended for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs and sat out the final two games of the 2011 season leaving him with two more games to go.
