Rams Pounded by Vikings, 34-6
The Rams were crushed by the Vikings, 34-6, at home.
Austin Davis couldn't find his rhythm, going 16 for 23 for only 192 yards without a touchdown and one pick. Matt Cassel ended up going 17 of 25 with 170 yards passing, two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Vikings.
Benny Cunningham ran for 21 yards on five carries in addition to four receptions for 30 yards. Brian Quick caught seven balls for 99 yards.
The St. Louis defense struggled against the running game, but was able to slow down the pass, giving up 170 yards passing and 186 rushing. They brought down Cassel for one sack.
Vikings wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson could not be contained, putting up 102 yards rushing, 26 receiving and one touchdown. Wide receiver Greg Jennings also put together a noteworthy performance with 58 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Rams head to Tampa next week to face the Buccaneers (0-0) while the Vikings host the Patriots (0-0).
