Oft-injured Rams wide receiver Danario Alexander was waived/injured and defensive tackle Trevor Laws was placed on injured reserve.
Alexander had not played in preseason with a hamstring injury. He has had multiple knee injuries and surgeries in his playing career at Missouri and with the Rams. The 24-year-old went undrafted and signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent. If he goes unclaimed on waivers as expected, Alexander would revert to the Rams' injured reserve list.
Laws, 27, was entering his fifth season and first with the Rams after playing for the Eagles from 2008-2011. He appeared in 56 games with Philadelphia, including two starts, and signed a one-year deal with the Rams in April.
The Rams waived 13 players, including fullback Todd Anderson, tight end Brody Eldridge, wide receiver Charles Gilbert, defensive tackle John Gill, wide receiver Brandyn Harvey, linebacker Alex Hoffman-Ellis, offensive tackle Kevin Hughes, linebacker Noah Keller, kicker Garrett Lindholm, offensive tackle Ryan McKee, running back Calvin Middleton, running back Nick Schwieger and long-snapper Travis Tripucka.
