Buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

Rams fined $20,000 for not disclosing in-game injury

National Football Post

The NFL has come down on another club for not disclosing all injuries on the weekly injury report.

The St. Louis Rams have been tagged with a $20,000 fine for failing to report a groin injury to running back Steven Jackson in Week 2 during a game against the Washington Redskins, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The Rams did not report the injury and thus it appeared Jackson had been benched.

The Baltimore Ravens have been slapped with a similar fine and the Redskins also got a $20,000 fine for how they handled a concussion to quarterback Robert Griffin III during a game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The bottom line is these fines are chump change for NFL organizations. If a club believes it is in its best interest to not disclose an injury – if the coach thinks it will be valuable during a game or game week – a $20,000 fine is a small price to pay.
