Buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

Rajon Rondo Cringes Looking at the Boston Celtics' Box Score

A Rough Night

Yahoo Contributor Network

COMMENTARY | The Boston Celtics were on the wrong side of a blowout last night against the Houston Rockets. They were already losing by 22 by the end of the first quarter, but I guess they only ended up losing by 24.

Rajon Rondo was on the bench to watch his team square off against James Harden and Dwight Howard. While recovering from a torn ACL from last season, Rondo decided to play cheerleader and stay around the team. Now, he probably wishes he stayed home.

The box score to this game is ugly, as you can imagine. The Celtics shot just 32% from the field, while Houston shot nearly 57%. Not exactly a recipe for success. Rondo found this out the hard way by looking at the box score during the game, and his reactions were priceless. If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch the video over at Deadspin.

I want to know just one thing: Why does Rondo look so surprised? Was he not watching the game the entire time? Did he try to avoid the scoreboard? Regardless, everyone in the arena knew just how ugly the game was for the Celtics. At least he didn't try to hide his emotions, I guess. Honesty is nice.

It's clear that the Celtics could have used Rondo's play at point guard last night. Here are the lines for some of Rondo's replacements:

- Avery Bradley: 5-22 shooting, 11 points, 5 rebounds, 0 assists

- Jordan Crawford: 1-8 shooting, 6 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists

- Phil Pressey: 0-3 shooting, 5 points, 0 rebounds, 5 assists

No wonder Rondo was so disgusted. It doesn't get too much worse than this, right? If Rajon doesn't come back soon, there may be a few more ugly box scores to deal with.
