Raiders have Thanksgiving date with Cowboys

The SportsXchange

The Oakland Raiders have a Thanksgiving date in Dallas with the Cowboys this season. In addition to that nationally televised game on Nov. 28, the Raiders will appear on "Monday Night Football" when they travel to Denver to face Peyton Manning and the Broncos on Sept. 23.

The NFL released schedules on Thursday and for the third time in four years (2010, 2011 and 2013), the Raiders will open on the road. Head coach Dennis Allen will begin his second season at the Raiders' helm on Sept 8 in Indianapolis against the Colts and Andrew Luck.

The Raiders' home opener will be against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept 15.

The Silver and Black also will travel to New York -- twice. On Nov. 11, they will take on the Giants at MetLife Stadium. The Raiders will make the cross-country trek again on Dec. 8 to play the Jets, once again at MetLife.

Oakland will have five games against teams that made the postseason last year. They will play host to the Broncos and Washington Redskins and travel to Denver, Indianapolis and Texas.
