Raiders' QB Pryor to start Thursday

Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen said on Sunday that Terrelle Pryor will be the team's starting quarterback for Thursday's final preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, CSNCalifornia.com reported.

Allen said the team has decided to rest Matt Flynn, who is bothered by elbow tendinitis.

Flynn presumably remains the team's No. 1 quarterback, but he was bothered by elbow issues last year in preseason. He ended up losing a preseason battle with Russell Wilson for the Seahawks' starting quarterback job.

It's unclear whether Fynn's elbow problem could jeopardize his chances of starting the regular-season opener.

In any case, Pryor can improve his chances of getting playing time if he performs well on Thursday.

Raiders' second-round pick Menelik Watson, who played right tackle at Florida State, will get the start.
