The Quiksilver Pro France resumed on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at La Graviere in the Hossegor region of France. The competitors were greeted with offshore winds, sunny skies and waves in the six foot range. As such, multiple surf heats were completed. Here's a quick rundown on some of the early results:

Round 3 Results

Round 3 was completed on Thursday morning. The highest surf heat score of the round was earned by Dane Reynolds (USA) during his Heat 6 matchup against Mick Fanning (AUS). During the heat, Reynolds fired off a jaw-dropping 10 point ride. He won the surf heat with 16.50 points.

Round 4 Results

The highest surf heat score of Round 4 was produced by John John Florence (HAW) during his Heat 1 matchup against Miguel Pupo (BRA) and Kolohe Andino (USA). Florence's best waves were an 8.43 point ride and an 8.07 point ride. He won the surf heat with 16.50 points.

Round 5 Results

Round 5 kicked off with a surf heat between Miguel Pupo (BRA) and Michel Bourez (PYF). Miguel Pupo's best wave was a 7.83 point ride. He won the surf heat with 12.50 points and is expected to surf against John John Florence (HAW) in Heat 1 of the quarterfinals.

Heat 2 featured surfers Bede Durbidge (AUS) and Kolohe Andino (USA). If you ask me, it was a slow surf heat. Both surfers opened up the heat with low scoring rides. Then Kolohe Andino fired off a 6 point ride and took the lead. He backed it up with a 6.50 point ride and won the heat with 12.50 points. Andino is anticipated to surf against Dane Reynolds (USA) in Heat 2 of the quarterfinals.

Heat 3 featured surfers Owen Wright (AUS) and Gabriel Medina (BRA). Owen Wright opened up the heat with a sweet 8 point ride. Gabriel Medina answered back by grabbing a great barrel ride. He utilized it to deliver a big carve and launch into a backside air. It earned Medina 7.27 points and put him into the lead. Owen Wright tried to rally back by firing off an aerial of his own. Unfortunately for Wright, it just didn't work out in his favor. Gabriel Medina won the surf heat with 12.60 points. He is slated to surf against Joel Parkinson (AUS) in Heat 3 of the quarterfinals.
