Drew Brees made history when the New Orleans Saints beat the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, December 26. Brees broke Dan Marino's record for passing yards in a single season. But Brees also is climbing up the list of touchdown passes in a single season. He threw four against the Atlanta Falcons. He now has 41 on the season. With three more touchdown passes in the final week, Brees will reach the top five in that category. Here are those top five quarterbacks in terms of passing touchdowns in a single season.

Tom Brady - 50

Brady was amazing in the 2007 season. In helping his team finish 16-0, Brady tossed 50 touchdown passes and just eight interceptions. He had 14 games with multiple touchdown passes, including a six touchdown game against the Miami Dolphins. Brady set the record in the final game of the regular season. He also threw for 4,806 yards.

Peyton Manning - 49

Manning reached 49 touchdown passes in just 15 games in 2004. He barely played in his team's final regular season contest. His 49 touchdown pass and 10 interception season is easily one of his best. He had four games in which he threw at least five touchdown passes. The only game he didn't throw one was in that regular season finale.

Dan Marino - 48

Marino's first full season as a starter remains his greatest. 1984 was the year he established the passing yard record. It was also the year he set a new touchdown park. His 48 touchdown passes were highlighted by a run of four straight games with four touchdown passes to close the season. His strong season helped the Dolphins reach the Super Bowl.

Aaron Rodgers - 45

In the 2011 season, Rodgers has been almost surgical in the way he throws. With one game left, he still has a great shot to move up this list. Through his first 15 games, he has had multiple touchdown passes in every game but one. He also has just six interceptions and could join the short list of quarterbacks with 5,000 yards passing if he plays in the final game.

Dan Marino - 44

Marino wasn't quite as strong as he was in 1984, but did have a remarkable season in 1986. He had 44 touchdown passes and 23 interceptions. He threw at least one touchdown pass in all 16 games. He did have a six touchdown game during the season as well. Despite Marino's effort, his team finished just 8-8.
