Purdue announced Friday it hired John Shoop as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. "Coach Shoop is a great guy and a smart coach that understands the team culture we're building at Purdue," coach Darrell Hazell said in a statement. "He has a ton of experience at the highest levels of football, having served as an offensive coordinator in both the NFL and college. I love what his knowledge and expertise brings to Purdue, but I really value his notion of family and team-building that will play a vital role for us." Shoop most recently served as North Carolina's offensive coordinator from 2007-11. He did not coach in 2012. The Boilermakers are still in search of a defensive line coach, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator.
