LSU running back Jeremy Hill was arrested for simple battery Saturday morning stemming from an incident outside a bar in Baton Rouge, La. Hill, 20, was booked at 6:30 a.m. and was released later in the morning after posting a $500 bond, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.
The victim told police he was struck in the head several times and fell unconscious. Police were shown video of the incident, clearly showing Hill striking the victim, according to the affidavit. Police found Hill at a nearby apartment building where he was living and arrested him.
Police are also searching for another person who might have been involved in the incident. If Hill is convicted of the misdemeanor, it would violate his probation. He pled guilty to carnal knowledge of a juvenile in 2011. LSU coach Les Miles was not available for comment because he was in New York for the NFL draft. Hill led the Tigers with 755 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last year as a freshman.
