Press Box: Blackhawks' Quenneville signs three-year extension

Winning two Stanley Cups in four seasons gives a coach staying power, and the Chicago Blackhawks are planning to keep coach Joel Quenneville around for a few more years.

Quenneville, 222-106-44 in five seasons with the Blackhawks, signed a three-year contract extension with the team.

The 2013 Jack Adams Award winner as the NHL coach who contributed the most to his team's success, Quenneville led the Blackhawks to a landmark season, becoming the only coach in franchise history to lead the team to two Stanley Cup championships.

AUTO RACING

--- Dale Earnhardt Jr. has yet to announce a new sponsor, and it remains unclear whether he will have a sponsor for the all the NASCAR races this year.

Hendrick Motorsports continues to try to get sponsorship for Earnhardt's car, and team owner Rick Hendrick has indicated that it is close to obtaining a sponsor.

Earnhardt does not seem concerned.

"It is important to try to fill out what we have this season, and we will," Earnhardt told reporters at Indianapolis International Speedway. "I don't have any doubt at all that we will get that done. "I think we almost have to look forward beyond that to try to find out who is going to be the partner that we can put a long-term deal together that matches up with what we want to do in the future."
