Chasing history?

I'll Have Another obviously has the public's attention, but didn't earn favorite's status heading into the Preakness Stakes. As to whether Bodemeister truly deserves the stature of top odds billing will be determined late Saturday afternoon.

Unless fans are heavily favoring other horses, they have to want I'll Have Another to win this race and go for history at the Belmont Stakes. Few individuals could honestly claim that they believed this specific horse was going to win the Kentucky Derby, or have the chance to win more than that first leg.

Late jockey change

Among the current long shots, Hall of Famer Kent Desormeaux's failed alcohol test has given Ramon Dominguez an unexpected opportunity to ride Tiger Walk.

Dominguez won the Eclipse Award, given to North America's champion jockey, in 2010 and 2011. He is currently tied with Javier Castellano for the best winning percentage (25%) among all jockeys in 2012.

He also rode Hansen, who finished ninth in this year's Kentucky Derby.
