PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) -- Jerry Lovelock rushed for three touchdowns and passed for a fourth as Prairie View rolled to a 43-23 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday.
The Panthers (6-6, 5-4 SWAC) snapped a three-game skid by piling up 597 total yards of offense and scoring 22 unanswered points in the first quarter.
Lovelock, who was 18 of 25 for 134 yards passing, scrambled for 72 yards on the ground as well. Courtney Brown found the end zone on a run from the 19-yard line, and Levon Castillo punched-in a 1-yard TD run as well. The Panthers also scored a safety on a blocked punt.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2-9, 2-7) stepped up in the second quarter and matched Prairie View in scoring in the second half, but couldn't recover from its first quarter drought. Benjamin Anderson passed for 226 yards and a touchdown for Golden Lions.
