Power rankings: Broncos' 'D' makes them complete

 1. Denver Broncos: “D” makes them complete package: held K.C. to 119 yards of offense.

 2. New England Patriots: Ridley fifth Pats rusher with 1,200 yards; first since 2004.

 3. Atlanta Falcons: Injuries to Robinson, Abraham not what Atlanta wanted in Week 17.

 4. San Francisco 49ers: Akers’ shakiness a big concern heading into postseason.

 5. Seattle Seahawks: Went 8-0 at home, but won’t be playing in Seattle in playoffs.

 6. Green Bay Packers: Needed a bye badly; a scary team when everyone is healthy.

 7. Houston Texans: Stumbling into playoffs, but match up well with Bengals.

 8. Washington Redskins: The other rookie, Alfred Morris, put on a show on Sunday.

 9. Cincinnati Bengals: Dalton will need better game than last year vs. Houston (three INTs).

10. Baltimore Ravens: Jim Caldwell’s offense may need big production vs. his former team.

11. Indianapolis Colts: Quite the welcome back for Pagano to knock Texans from top seed.

12. Minnesota Vikings: For all the flak, Ponder made some big throws in final two wins.

13. Chicago Bears: Another year goes by and plenty of questions still loom on offense.

14. New York Giants: Too little, too late. Going 3-3 in division certainly hurt cause this season.

15. Dallas Cowboys: Another year, another turnover-filled crucial game for Tony Romo.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers: First season that Mike Tomlin failed to finish above .500 mark.

17. New Orleans Saints: Set dubious record for most yards allowed in a season (7,042).

18. St. Louis Rams: Showed promise in 7-8-1 season; Bradford needs more help, though.

19. Carolina Panthers: If only Carolina ran the ball like this to start the season …

20. San Diego Chargers: Philip Rivers rallied with nine TDs, one INT in final six games.

21. Miami Dolphins: Tannehill, Dolphins end season with a thud in shutout loss.

22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Freeman set club single-season record for TD passes (27).

23. Buffalo Bills: Stevie Johnson’s third 1,000-yard season in a row one of few bright spots.

24. New York Jets: Ugly season ends with two more Mark Sanchez turnovers (26 in 2012).

25. Cleveland Browns: Rookie leaders at skill positions will give new staff plenty to work with.

26. Tennessee Titans: Scored 28 unanswered points without having offensive possession.

27. Detroit Lions: From 10-6 to 4-12, and Detroit went winless in the NFC North.

28. Arizona Cardinals: Arizona had most starting QBs in league with four.

29. Philadelphia Eagles: Sad to see Philly show little fight in Andy Reid’s last game.

30. Oakland Raiders: Glass half-full: Streater adds to intriguing group of young WRs.

31. Jacksonville Jaguars: Blackmon’s final four games: 25 catches, 308 yards, two TDs.

32. Kansas City Chiefs: Doesn’t appear to be a good year to have the No. 1 pick.
