Power Play:No Florida Dreaming

The Florida power play is so weak that Alex Ovechkin is only one goal behind the whole team. Read more in Michael Finewax's Power Play Report

Alex Ovechkin has 15 power play goals. The Florida Panthers team has only 16. That says a lot for the horrible Panther pp as the next lowest total is 25, held by three teams, the Vancouver Canucks, Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres.

The Panthers need scoring. They have scored the second least amount of goals with only 126 (Buffalo has only 99 this season. It’s not fun sitting in the First Niagara Center) but the problem is the power play as they are 17th overall in even strength situations with 104 goals.

It’s sad that two-thirds into the season, the team leader in goals has only three. That’s all. Sean Bergenheim and Aleksander Barkov lead the way.

Dmitry Kulikov picked up his first power play point of the season this past week.

It's not a good power play.
