Power Foot wins Santa Anita feature in upset

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) -- Power Foot ran by 3-5 favorite Monastic inside the sixteenth pole to win the $60,000 Neptune Purse by 1 3/4 lengths at Santa Anita on Thursday.

Ridden by Edwin Maldonado, Power Foot ran 1 1/4 miles on the turf and paid $7.20, $3 and $2.20 as the 5-2 second choice.

Monastic returned $2.20 and $2.10, and Imperative was another 1 1/2 lengths back in third and paid $2.20 to show.

The victory, worth $36,000, increased Power Foot's career earnings to $156,214, with three wins in 14 starts.
