Major League Soccer announced on Wednesday that the city of Portland and JELD-WEN Field will host the 2014 MLS All-Star Game, the first time the annual showpiece has been held in the Cascadia region.
"The Portland Timbers and their passionate fans have certainly earned the honor of hosting the 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game," MLS Commissioner Don Garber said in a press release. "This match will showcase to an international audience the incredible devotion to the game in the Pacific Northwest that serves as one of the most important stories for our league."
An opponent has yet to be announced.
Kansas City will host this year's edition on July 31, as the cream of MLS takes on Italian club AS Roma at Sporting Park.
