This 'Pokémon Go' stampede in Taiwan is terrifying
Pokémon Go isn't cute anymore.
When the game first came out, the app was praised for getting people out of the house, exercising and meeting new people. But stampedes in the streets show a much darker side of things.
A new clip out of Taipei, Taiwan, this week claims to show a group of what seems like thousands of people rushing to catch a Snorlax. According to Time the clip was originally uploaded to Facebook on Saturday.
In the video's description on Facebook, the uploader explains that the group of people waited for the light to change to green before crossing the street, thus starting the somewhat polite stampede.
Of course this isn't the first stampede of Pokémon players, a similar event occurred in New York's Central Park in July after the games' release.
Regardless, the future is here and it's weird.
