Curt Schilling is a man with no shortage of opinions. And this week baseball has been ripe with things to have an opinion about, including Alex Rodriguez’s retirement and Tim Tebow’s attempt at a pro career.

So on this week’s StewPod, the Yahoo Sports baseball podcast, Schilling shares his opinions with us. Schilling gives us his view on A-Rod’s final days, assesses the chances of Tebow and tells us about his new broadcasting gig, with conservative news site Breitbart, where he’ll launch a daily web show about life and politics in the next couple weeks.

Here are a few of the highlights of our interview:

Whether this is really the end of A-Rod’s career:
“Here’s why I would say no. I think Jeffrey Loria [of the Miami Marlins] is the worst owner in professional sports and I think he might be stupid enough to [sign him] and bring him on.”

Whether A-Rod can save face by walking away:
“I don’t know that there’s any face to save. No matter how contrite he is, no matter how much he admits to now, I think he realizes that that ship sailed a long time ago.”

On the real A-Rod:
“People have looked at him forever and wondered, ‘Despite what you’re saying, who are you?” I think he’s a brilliant baseball mind. If you talk to anybody that knows him, he has a passion for talking about baseball and sports. I think the only thing that makes him different and [unique] is how incredibly insecure he is. Most of the great players I played with were insecure, some to a really embarrassing degree, he probably is one of those guys. He’s tried so hard to fit in instead of just playing.”

On Tebow’s chances of making the big leagues:
“There is absolutely no chance that he would ever set foot on a big-league diamond to play in a big-league baseball game in the regular season.”

On starting his own political talk show:
“I’m excited to move that way … I think this is the most important election of our lifetime and I want to be involved. I want to talk about stuff that moves the needle. Whether you agree or disagree, I think that debate is what’s needed.”
