Pistons G Stuckey has surgery

The SportsXchange

The Detroit Pistons announced Friday that guard Rodney Stuckey underwent successful surgery to repair a fracture on his right thumb.

Stuckey will wear a splint on the thumb for two weeks and will be re-evaluated at that time.

Stuckey was injured in an off-the-court accident. The digit was caught in the door jamb of Stuckey's car when the door closed, causing a distal phalanx fracture.

The 27-year-old is entering his seventh NBA season. He averaged 11.5 points, 3.6 assists and 2.8 rebounds over 76 games in 2012-13. His career averages are 13.4 points, 4.2 points and 3.1 assists per game.
