PHILADELPHIA -- Friday's interleague game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago White Sox was postponed due to inclement weather. A day-night doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday. The originally scheduled 4:05 p.m. game will be pushed up an hour to 3:05 p.m., and the nightcap will begin at 8:15 p.m.
The first game will feature Friday's expected starters, with Jonathan Pettibone (5-3, 3.84) of the Phillies opposing John Danks (2-6, 4.31) of the White Sox. In the second game, John Lannan (2-3, 4.23) will take the mound for Philadelphia, while Hector Santiago (3-5, 3.49) will go for Chicago.
Neither team will be able to add a 26th man to the roster because the doubleheader was not scheduled 48 hours in advance.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura said rookie catcher Josh Phegley will likely start the first game, with Tyler Flowers catching the second game. Phegley, who hit a grand slam in Chicago's win over Detroit on Thursday, has hit three home runs in his first five major-league games and is 4-for-20 (.200) at the plate.
Following Saturday's twinbill, the teams will wrap up the three-game series on Sunday afternoon before the All-Star break begins Monday.
