Phillies promote 3B Asche

The Philadelphia Phillies promoted third-base prospect Cody Asche and designated Steve Susdorf for assignment on Tuesday.

Asche's arrival could be a precursor to a trade of veteran Michael Young. The Boston Red Sox were rumored as a possible destination, though FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported that Young would only approve a trade to the Texas Rangers, his former team.

Asche, 23, was batting .295 with 15 home runs, 68 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 104 games at Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season.
