Phillies place OF Revere on DL

The SportsXchange

The Philadelphia Phillies placed outfielder Ben Revere on the 15-day disabled list Sunday, one day after breaking his right foot.

The Phillies activated catcher Erik Kratz from the DL to take Revere's spot on the roster.

Revere broke his foot after fouling a pitch off it during the first game of a doubleheader against the Chicago White Sox.

He will be further examined Monday to determine the extent of the break and how much time he will need to recover.

Revere is batting .305 this season.

Kratz has been out with a torn meniscus in his knee since June 8. He is batting .229 with eight home runs and 22 RBI in 43 games.
