The Philadelphia defense had no answer for Nick Foles, but it would prove not enough to avoid a tough loss for the Eagles against the Vikings, 48-30, in Minneapolis.
Foles had an outstanding game, completing 30 out of 48 passes for 428 yards, three touchdowns and one pick. Matt Cassel also played quite well, and wound up 26 for 35 with 382 yards passing, three touchdowns (2 pass, 1 rush) and one pick.
LeSean McCoy ran for 38 yards on eight attempts in addition to five receptions for 68 yards. DeSean Jackson was a leading receiver, hauling in 10 passes for 195 yards with a touchdown.
The Philadelphia defense struggled to defend the passing attack, but was able to slow down the run, giving up 382 yards passing and 85 rushing. They sacked Cassel three times.
Finally, Alex Henery was perfect, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts.
Vikings wide receiver Greg Jennings was impressive, churning out 163 receiving yards and one touchdown. Running back Matt Asiata also had a good game with 51 rushing yards, 15 receiving and three touchdowns.
The Eagles will play host to the Bears (8-6) next week while the Vikings head to Cincinnati to face off with the Bengals (9-4).
