I have traveled throughout various NFL stadiums, enjoying games and tailgating. Philadelphia is one of my favorite cities and fan bases. The Linc is an incredible stadium with state-of-the art facilities. The Philadelphia Eagles are starting out strong and their fans should be coming out in droves to cheer them on to victory. There is nothing like starting out a game at the Linc with tailgating.

Here is the most up-to-date information on tailgating for Eagles games:

Venue: Lincoln Financial Field

Previous Philadelphia Eagles Stadium Names:

Shibe Park

Franklin Field

Veterans Stadium

Football Nickname: The Linc

Playing Surface: Lincoln Financial Field uses Desso GrassMaster as a playing field, made of both natural and artificial material.

Year Opened: 2003

Paid Tailgating Lots: Tailgating is available at lots K, L, J, M, N, E, F and J. Look for signs indicating tailgating locations, as these locations could be subject to change.

Parking Cost: Cars cost $25 to park, while recreational vehicles cost $50. If an RV takes more than two spots, the cost can be $75 or more.

Recreational Vehicle Tailgating Parking: RVs are allowed, but will be charged by the amount of parking spots it takes up, with a minimum of two spots.

Tailgating Times: Tailgating begins at 9 a.m. or five hours before game time. The Citizens State Bank location is open three hours before game time and cannot be used for tailgating.

Prohibited Parking: Tailgating is not allowed in the NovaCare complex, as well as lots Q through W. The lot at the Citizens State Bank is only for those with Eagles Fan Zone tickets and parking spots. No alcohol or grilling is allowed at the Citizen State Bank parking lot and it is heavily patrolled.

Grilling and Fire Rules: Grilling is allowed at the Wells Fargo lots and in lots M and N. Charcoal must be safely removed and tailgaters are responsible for not leaving any coals on the ground.

Eagles Fan Zone: There is a package plan that includes select game tickets in sections C9-C12, food and beverages two hours before game time and special tailgating activities. Parking is available for these tailgaters at Citizens State Bank.

Alcoholic Beverages: Alcoholic beverages are allowed for consumption for anyone of the legal age to drink alcohol. Overly intoxicated tailgaters can be denied admission into the stadium.

Personal-Experience Parking and Tailgating Tips: The people in Philadelphia love to tailgate, so get there early. We were there a bit after the 9 a.m. opening time and within 20 minutes the lot was totally full and people were eating. The rules at the Linc are very strict and there are security people checking the interiors of cars for weapons and fireworks as well as for overly intoxicated fans. Also, unlike other locations, throwing around a football is prohibited. We stuck to chatting with other fans, listening to the radio on the Eagles official station, 94WYSP, and just enjoying the atmosphere.
