Philadelphia 76ers at Boston Celtics, Eastern Semis Game 2: Fan Playoff Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

The Boston Celtics got off to an early series lead by defeating the Philadelphia 76ers by the score of 92-91 on Saturday, May 12. Rajon Rondo recorded a triple-double with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 17 assists while Kevin Garnett shined with 29 points and 11 rebounds.

It was a hard fought battle where experience became the deciding factor. Boston may have had the home court advantage and pair of outstanding performances by Rondo and Garnett but the Sixers were playing on the emotional high of knocking off the Chicago Bulls in the Conference Quarters. Boston's experience, defense, and the ability to make clutch baskets are what hurt Philadelphia in the end.

Heading into Game 2, both teams will make adjustments after a day of rest. For Boston, a win is needed before they head off to Philadelphia for a pair of road games. Just three more wins are needed to be one step closer to an NBA Championship.
