The PGA Tour announced the first six tournaments for the newly restructured 2013-14 season on Monday. All six events will award FedEx Cup points and will be televised on Golf Channel. Three of the tournaments are outside of the U.S. The tournaments, all held before the end of the 2013 calendar year, will count toward the 2014 FedEx Cup. The season tees off with the Frys.com Open Oct. 10-13 in San Martin, Calif. Other tournaments included in the new format are: Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas, Nev. (Oct. 17-20); CIMB Classic in Selangor, Malaysia (Oct. 24-27); WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, China (Oct. 31-Nov. 3); McGladrey Classic at St. Simons Island, Ga. (Nov. 7-10); and OHL Classic at Mayakoba Playa del Carmen, Mexico (Nov. 14-17). The OHL Classic was formerly played in February opposite the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Walt Disney Resort will not host a PGA Tour event in the 2013-14 season. The full schedule will be announced later next year.
