NEW ORLEANS -- Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning won the 2012 Associated Press NFL Comeback Player of the Year award. It was one of the most debated awards this year, with Manning and Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson battling it out for the league Most Valuable Player and comeback awards. Manning, who sat out the 2011 season following at least three surgical procedures on his neck, signed with the Bronos during last offseason and went on to throw 37 touchdowns passes with a 105.8 passer rating while completing a league-high 68.6 completion percentage. The Broncos finished 13-3 during the regular season and won the AFC West title.
