Penn State seniors Michael Zordich and linebacker Michael Mauti led a group of about two dozen players that publicly pledged their commitment to the university Wednesday. "This program was not built by one man and this program is sure as hell not going to get torn down by one man," said Mauti, a senior starting linebacker who missed the final three months of last season with a knee injury. Zordich, a senior running back, is the son of Penn State great and Philadelphia Eagles' secondary coach Mike Zordich. Starting running back Silas Redd, a junior rumored to be considering transferring to Southern Cal, wasn't present. Penn State said he was in transit to Big Ten media days in Chicago. Starting quarterback Mike McGloin, a former walk-on, said he will not transfer and was in attendance Wednesday as were junior offensive tackle Adam Gress and junior offensive guard John Urschel. Unprecedented sanctions levied against the program by the NCAA, has created a recruiting frenzy on Penn State's campus, where players have been working out. Several groups of coaches from opposing teams were staking out the Lasch Football Building parking lot to recruit Penn State players, according to multiple reports. "Our players are in our building right now and don't want to leave because there are coaches from other schools in the parking lot waiting to see them," head coach Bill O'Brien told ESPN. Penn State players can transfer without having to sit out, and Redd is being promised a starting job by several coaches, according to ESPN. Schools interested in players must notify Penn State per NCAA rules, and USC has already done so, one source told ESPN.
