Gasol went 9-15, in a good performance. Kelly Olynyk had a rare quality performance off the bench for Boston despite the loss, scoring 25 points on 11-17 shooting, including 1-4 from behind the arc. He also added 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Jeff Green chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds and Jared Sullinger finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
The Lakers combined an eFG% of 58.1% with 60.0% 3-point shooting. They are 3-1 this year when registering marks above 55% and 40% in those respective statistics. The Celtics, on the other hand, are 1-4 when allowing opponents to hit those marks.
Boston (14-27) could not get back-to-back victories after defeating Toronto on Wednesday.
