Pats list Amendola as inactive for game

Wide receiver Danny Amendola and tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Zach Sudfeld were on the New England Patriots' inactive list for their Thursday night game against the New York Jets.

Amendola could be sidelined from two to six weeks with a groin injury, according to reports. The former St. Louis Rams receiver has a history of injuries, having missed 21 of the past 34 games.

In his first regular-season game for the Patriots last week against the Buffalo Bills, Amendola had 10 catches for 104 yards.

Gronkowski is recovering from a forearm injury and offseason back surgery. He is expected to return by Week 4, NFL.com reported Thursday.

The Patriots are down to two tight ends with Sudfeld and Gronkowski out and former tight end Aaron Hernandez in jail. New England's active tight ends for Thursday night's game were Michael Hoomanawanui and Matthew Mulligan.
