Free-agent safety Adrian Wilson has signed a contract to play for the New England Patriots, multiple media outlets reported Friday.
Wilson, 33, has been selected to five Pro Bowls and he started 14 of the 15 games in which he played for the Arizona Cardinal last season. He had one interception and three sacks in 2012.
Wilson likely will play in early-down situations for the Patriots, but not on passing downs.
The Patriots had lost safety Patrick Chung to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier.
