Tim Brown:

Patriots practices taking on MMA feel

National Football Post

Elton John once sang that "Saturday Night Was All Right For Fighting."

Apparently for the New England Patriots just about any day is a good day for a training camp fight. After two more fights on Friday, per Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com, the Patriots now have had eight fights since training camp opened.

Today's fights were mostly at the end of 11 on 11, but involved nearly every player on the team either as a participant or a peacemaker trying to break things up.

Offensive lineman Ryan Wendell and linebacker Bobby Carpenter were chiefly involved in the first fracas, while rookie tackle Darrion Weems and rookie defensive lineman Marcus Forston were heavily involved in the second fight.

After the second scrap, players huddled in the middle of the field for a players-only meeting.
