Patriots sign former CFL DL Vega

The Patriots continue to be busy in free agency, adding a pair of defenders on Monday, signing S Marquice Cole and DE Trevor Scott to contracts. Terms and conditions of the deals were not announced.

Cole comes from the AFC East-rival Jets, where he spent the first three seasons of his career as a reserve in the secondary and also an impact player on special teams. In 37 career games, Cole has 40 tackles and a pair of interceptions.

Scott provides depth along the New England defensive line after spending four seasons with the Raiders. He has 97 tackles and 13½ sacks during his career, though 12 of those sacks came in his first two seasons in the league.
