Running back Kevin Faulk's 13th season with the New England Patriots officially began on Saturday as the team announced it had activated him from the PUP list onto the 53-man roster.
The Patriots also added defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick to the active roster from the physically unable to perform list as well.
New England had released cornerback Leigh Bodden earlier in the week, and on Saturday to help make room on the roster, the Patriots placed rookie cornerback Ras-I Dowling on injured reserve with a hip injury.
Faulk has not played much of late, appearing in just two games last year for the Pats.
