What's buzzing:

Panthers WR Smith active; RB Stewart inactive

The SportsXchange

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith is active for Sunday's NFC divisional playoff against the San Francisco 49ers.

However, Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is inactive for the game.

Smith was previously listed as questionable on the team's injury report with a knee injury. He had 64 receptions for 745 yards while playing in 15 regular-season games.

With Stewart out, the Panthers will depend on running backs DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert. Stewart was listed as questionable with a knee injury. He tore an MCL in Week 14 but surprisingly practiced fully Wednesday. For the season, he rushed for 180 yards in six games.
