Panthers DE Charles Johnson underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee on Friday.
GM Marty Hurney said the procedure was a “minor clean-out,” according to Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer.
Johnson wrote on his Twitter, “My surgery went good! Thanks to everyone for your blessing.”
Heading into his sixth season, Johnson had 30½ career sacks. In 2011, he started all 15 games he played and made 40 tackles, nine sacks, four passes defensed and one forced fumble. Johnson signed a six-year, $72 million contract before the ’11 season.
