Breaking News from Woj:

Panthers interview Mike Shula for coordinator gig

National Football Post

The Carolina Panthers have interviewed quarterbacks coach Mike Shula for the vacant offensive coordinator position that was created when Rob Chudzinski left the club.

Shula is believed to have a solid relationship with Cam Newton, who made significant strides during the second half of this past season. Promoting Shula, who previously served as an offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under Tony Dungy, would give the Panthers continuity in what will be a critical season.

The Associated Press reported the meeting for Shula. Former Cleveland Browns coach Pat Shurmur, who has a relationship with coach Ron Rivera from their days together on Andy Reid’s staff in Philadelphia, and Cincinnati Bengals assistant Hue Jackson have also interviewed for the position.
